This year O Yeah! is set to feature some of Australia’s freshest indie pop talent in Hungry Kids of Hungary, Loon Lake and Atluk.

To call HUNGRY KIDS OF HUNGARY a pop band is too easy, too neat. Their brilliantly bent take on the genre has a little bit of everything. Yes, there are those melodies that worm their way in, the harmonies that soar, the hooks to burn. But there’s also that hint of unpredictability that makes them so exciting. Most of all, perhaps, listening to these guys play feels good – it’s fun. People smile at their shows…and that’s just the band.

For LOON LAKE 2011 has already been a mighty year and 2012 is shaping up to be even bigger. Loon Lake have been invited to play the Pyramid Rock Festival for new years and have just been announced for the Melbourne BDO. Most recently Loon Lake have been invited to support Australian music heavyweights Jebediah, Faker and The Grates. With such great gigs behind them and a big future ahead of them the Indie Rock 5 piece are set to get UC dancing.

Canberra expats ATLUK have dubbed their style as Saccharine-Folk. A mixture of the narrative style of Belle & Sebastian and the light-hearted romance of She & Him, they also have the occasional group harmonies of Boy & Bear and the warm melodies of Angus & Julia Stone. Every song, much like a blood-clot, gets stuck in your heart.

These three great bands set to start the crowd dancing and the ball rolling on the new year for UC Live! O Yeah! is an event not to be missed!
